Frida Khalo inspired Collage Workshop

IMG_0699.JPG

In this workshop, students will learn the basic principles of two-dimensional paper collage. A collage is an artistic composition made of various materials (paint, paper, ink, fabric, wood etc.) and glued onto a surface. We will spend our time together gathering images/design elements and assembling them together to create an exciting new art composition.

The focus for this workshop is to create a Frida Kahlo-inspired art collage to celebrate our collective love of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. We'll be using a variety of mediums, such as watercolors, ink and paper. Black + white computer print-outs and magazines to source images from will be provided, but feel free to bring your favorite inspirational images/items to incorporate into your collage. If you love Frida Kahlo and you want to learn a new mixed-medium technique, this workshop is for you. This workshop is a womxn-focused class open for all skill levels, no prior experience necessary.
